Bamboo Blossom Character Sheet

Height: Taller than the Mane 6 (Around the height of Macintosh) [Actual Height: 3 foot 9]

Author's Notes: I modeled Bamboo Blossom after a Tokara Pony, a native Japanese pony that has a coat usually colored Seal Brown, hence his colors. His name might be girly, but I didn't want to change it just because of that. I can't think of him with any other name, so deal with it.

Back Story: Bamboo Blossom is originally from Japony and moved to Fawlocke (A village in my story "The Lost Prince" in which he will be featured)  with his family when he was a young colt, where he stayed until he grew up. Eventually, his family decided to move back to Japony, however Blossom decided to stay behind. He opened and runs a Floral and Garden shop, which is situated near him home. Occasionally, he visits the Fawlocke school to teach young colts and fillies about gardening.

Story: Bamboo Blossom got his cutie mark when he was a young colt. His teacher, having decided to teach the class about plant growth, randomly assigned them all a plant that they would take care of while in school and the one who had the prettiest and healthiest looking plant would be allowed to keep and take their plant home. While all his classmates' plants grew just fine, despite his efforts Blossom could not get his plant to grow. Where most others would have given up, Blossom vowed not to give in and began studying various gardening books and techniques and cared for the plant and gave it his full attention until it began to grow.
    Eventually, the plant blossomed into a very beautiful pink flower, and while he didn't win the contest, Blossom felt proud of his accomplishment and realized his passion for gardening, earning him his cutie mark. Impressed by his unwillingness to give up and passion for what he did, his teacher allowed him to keep the plant anyway, stating that "not allowing him to do so after so much dedication and work would be a tragedy". Bamboo Blossom still has the flower on display in his home. 

Personality: Bamboo Blossom is naturally very calm and collected, and is very rarely upset. Intelligent, thoughtful and observant, Blossom usually knows everything that is going on and is rarely surprised by anything and is well prepared for just about any situation. Bamboo is very polite to every pony he meets, even if they aren't nice to him, since it was the way he was raised. Although kind, Blossom can be very strict at times to the point of being stubborn. Even far away from home, he holds on to a lot of his cultural customs.

Relationships:

Scarlet Shade: Bamboo Blossom is engaged to a pony named Scarlet Shade, whom he knew and has been engaged to since he was younger. The marriage is more of an arranged one, since his family and her's were close and it was more of a decision on their parent's parts than his and her's. However, he agreed to it anyway. As Scarlet Shade lives back and Japony, he hasn't given the marriage much thought. 
    While Scarlet can be a little harsh with him at times, he treats her with respect and even genuinely cares for her well being, much to her chagrin.

Dawning Sun: Blossom and Dawning Sun have been friends since Dawning Sun first arrived in Fawlocke, and the two frequent each other's company. He enjoys casual and philosophical conversations with his friend while having a cup of tea. Dawning Sun is easily his closest and most trusted friend and companion.
