Character Sheet: Broken Blade

Place of Origin: The Valley of Ashe (on the continent of Griffindor)

Appearance: Broken Blade's coat is a dark ash color, with a slight red tint. His mane and tail are a dark red, although it has been described to be "The color of fresh blood" when in direct sunlight. His eyes are a bright red.

Bio: Broken Blade was born to a small blacksmithing family in a small village in the Valley of Ashe on the continent of Griffindor. Broken Blade is one child of 3, and is the middle child, with one older brother (Blackened Blade) and a younger sister (Gossomer Blade). Since his family specialized in blacksmithing, mainly in forging swords, Broken Blade was taught the craft since he was very young and is quite skilled. 
  Since his village was poor, Broken Blade and his family barely scraped by, however Broken Blade never minded. However, since every other village nearby was also quite poor and supplies were scarce, his village would often be raided by other nearby villages and by groups of bandits. During one of the raids when Broken Blade was very young, while his brother and father were out defending the village while his mother, sister, and himself were hiding in their shop, a few of the raiders managed to break in. Desperate to defend his family, Broken Blade picked up one of the swords in the shop and proceeded to slaughter every intruder in the house. Although shocked by the experience, both he and his family realized he was talented with a blade and was involved in helping defend the village from then on, and ended up being one of the best fighters in the village. 
  
His Infamy: Word of Broken Blade's skill spread as quickly, and this often lead his village to be attacked by occasional bandits, wanting to challenge Broken Blade. To help protect himself, his mother and father forged a special Yanmaoudao (a type of sword) for him to carry and fight with. One day, Broken Blade and his brother were sent to a neighboring village to trade and sell goods. However, they discovered that their village had been attacked while they were away by a group of bandits looking for Broken Blade. Although his sister survived the attack, both his parents had perished in the skirmish. Feeling responsible for their death, Broken Blade and his siblings decided to leave the village and settle elsewhere, despite the villagers telling them otherwise. After settling down in a larger village, he helped his brother start a blacksmithing business, although he decided to quite after a few years, as people in the village started to suspect that he was the rumored "Blood Wolf" (A nickname he had picked up due to his fierce swordfighting style). Despite his sibling's protests, he also left the village, saying that he would find another way to help support his family, and promised to send any funds he gathered back to them. He left the continent of Griffindor and now works as a mercenary, as well as working various odd jobs as he travels.

About his blindfold: While fighting, Broken Blade often got an intense look in his eyes. After one battle, one of the young foals in his village commented that his eyes were scary. Not wanting to frighten them, he donned the blindfold. He also wears it to help hide his identity, as many people looking for "The Blood Wolf" were looking for someone with "Blood red hair and bright red eyes". He has also stated that he has just gotten used to wearing it.

His Cutie Mark: A Bloody Cresent and a Stab Mark. 
Story: Broken Blade gained his cutie mark after a raid when he realized that his talent lie with sword fighting, and not black smithing. It represents his talent with a sword, specifically with his slashing and stabbing techniques. While he does't particularly enjoy fighting, he does admit that it is his strongest talent.
